"We’re a little sick of places that roll out a big parmesan wheel for your cacio e pepe. Most of the time, it’s just for show. But here, that cheese clings to the tonnarelli like a sloth in a hurricane. The tableside performances are a bit heavy-handed at this Italian spot on Ponce. They pull out the hand torch more often than a welder. Luckily, their fluffy gnocchi or linguine alle vongolle are simple, easy to love, and only see the flames of Portosole’s stovetop burners." - virginia otazo, ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino
