"Opened in 2011, Lokal predates the national smashburger movement. Back then, the burger trend was replacing buns with doughnuts (that used to be an option here too). But Lokal has remained committed to un-smashed burgers, and this place remains a reliable stop for a beer and a burger that requires you to open your mouth like you're yawning. Everyone in this city has a go-to Lokal order. Ours (and most folks) is the frita, which has a salty/sweet combination of potato stix and guava jelly.
