"Brazas BBQ Chicken on South Street has a very particular scene: Peruvian art and handmade jewelry line the store up front, friends add a glass of sweet chicha morada to their order at counter, and smoky chicken has a home on every table. The friendly spot should be at the top of your list when it comes to Peruvian food in Philly. There's great pollo saltado and puffy, super-packed chicken empanadas with pepper sauce. But it's the BBQ chicken that makes us stop mid sentence. It's brined and marinated in soy, garlic, lime, cilantro, and sweet aji amarillo paste, and then slow-smoked.
