"Verdi’s is an excellent neighbourhood Italian a few steps away from Stepney Green tube. The restaurant is a relaxed, family-run gem, specialising in food from the Emilia-Romagna region (where basically the best stuff comes from). So think classic pappardelle bolognese, pizzas, and a properly-made tiramisu that’ll make you very happy. It’s a low-key move for when you just want good, straightforward food, and there’s warmth and ambience that would pack people in, even if the restaurant was in central London." - David Paw
