Lucky Star offers great Taiwanese dishes and a chill escape - Review - Atlanta - The Infatuation
"By day, this West Midtown spot serves coffee and Taiwanese pastries like egg custard tarts. At night, the cafe flips into a cocktail bar with Taiwanese light bites. But regardless of what time it is, Lucky Star delivers a quiet break from whatever chaos envelops your life. There are no screaming kids, obnoxious scene seekers, incessant chatter, TV screens, nor even windows. It’s borderline serene, like a sensory deprivation chamber with not much else to look at when it comes to decor. Instead, the focus is on the food and drinks, like a flaky duck fat scallion pancake, the must-order sausage in sausage, and the color-changing Harvest Moon with green tea and saffron. It’s a tasty meal with a side of quiet, which is nearly impossible to find in this part of town. Food Rundown Sausage In Sausage This popular Taiwanese street food is one of the best things on the menu here. It’s not going to change your life, but it’s a pretty good chicken dish. Fly’s Head If you only get a quick glance at this dish, it looks like it’s a plate of chives.
