"Fully embracing the secrecy theme, Redacted’s entrance (labeled only with a small sticker in typewriter font) is on the side of a brick building in Summerhill. Descend underground to the windowless lair, which houses a bar and a wall of green, semi-circle booths that look like they could be in a Cold War espionage film. You can’t smoke inside the bar, but it feels like the kind of hangout where there should be ashtrays on every table and dossiers hidden in between cushions. photo credit: Tabia Lisenbee-Parker video credit: Tabia S. For something fun, get the absinthe colada that blends absinthe’s licorice flavor with pineapple. It’s good. Or play it straight with a classic like their strong Old Fashioned with rye. It doesn’t disappoint. There’s no food except for a generic charcuterie board, so pair a visit here with a stop for dinner at one of the restaurants in the Summerhill strip." - Juli Horsford
