"The staff at Gee’s want to make sure you’re happy. They’ll let you try almost anything at the counter, as if you’re at an ice cream shop with a lifetime supply of tiny spoons. Can’t decide between oxtail and goat curry? Two bites from little jello shot containers, and you’ll know the clear answer is goat. All the dinner combos at this Trinidadian spot come with rice and two sides (we like the callaloo and mashed pumpkin or creamy potato salad). You can find better roti elsewhere, but the doubles with tamarind are absolutely worth it. There’s not much more to the space than a handful of tables and CNN on a screen, so most people get their food to go. photo credit: Gee's Caribbean Restaurant" - Kenny Yang
