"Set in an early-20th-century building in a quiet part of Smichov, Bockem has yet to catch the attention of most visitors, leaving in-the-know locals to enjoy this 26-seat spot with exposed brick walls and servers that are so chipper and friendly, you’d think they were trained in California. Dinner is a five-course affair of whatever's in season, paired with natural wine from Austria, Slovakia, and Moravia. The chef plays with ingredients and techniques, serving dishes that are Central European-ish, but drawing inspiration from all over the continent. Since it opened in 2019, Bockem’s Wednesday-to-Sunday breakfast/brunch has becometheplace to wake up with an espresso and a croque monsieur or a high-rise benedict souffle." - David Farley
