Kiez Küche & Beer Garden - Review - Highland Park - Los Angeles - The Infatuation
"Kiez strikes an unpredictable balance between family-friendly brewpub and a better-than-average beer garden, with indoor and outdoor spaces that both feel a little too small. But the surprisingly affordable German beer list and comprehensive menu, including flammkuchen (a crispy Alsatian flatbread), make it worth the search for parking on this busy stretch of York Blvd. The obligatory schnitzel—chicken, pork, or veal—comes perfectly crisp-tender, and an optional crushed-up pretzel breading and thick, beer-infused cheese sauce makes it even better. The potato salad is a little too mayo-y and the sauce on the currywurst is too thick (and expensive), but the sausage platter is a crowd-pleaser and the sauerkraut is tart and sinus-clearing. Tip: come on your birthday with 10 drinking buddies and get a giant glass boot full of lager on the house." - Andrew Ryce
