"Red Pony is smack dab in the middle of Franklin’s Main Street. That makes it really convenient for a nice meal right before a show at The Franklin Theater or after you’ve bopped around all the open galleries and shops during the monthly Art Walk. It’s in fine dining territory, with Duroc porchetta with bourbon-cherry agrodulce and kataifi topped with date jam, melted brie, and pistachio cream. But the digs bring it all back to earth with a dark Southern manor aesthetic, complete with chandeliers. The bar also makes a great old fashioned that changes seasonally—it’s worth hanging out with one of those and a few appetizers on a random Tuesday night." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones
