"Casa Amàlia has been around since the 1950s and is all about local community and traceability. Their digital menu shows you where their ingredients come from, down to the specific stall in La Concepció market next door. We love the Thorpedo mini sandwich, a pork rib, peanut sauce, and red onion explosion stuffed in Andalusian mollete flatbread, but the real bomb here is the rice. It’s made from Molino Roca’s short-grained Valencian Dinamita rice, which has a hollow center that allows for more absorption of flavor. If you’re like us, you might catch yourself fantasizing about the deep, earthy aromas of their Onyar-Merlès rice with duck magret, foie, and figs days later. Book a table on the terrace in the pedestrianized cobbled street that’s chic and romantic, like being on set for Emily in Barcelona. photo credit: Sara Larsson photo credit: Sara Larsson photo credit: Sara Larsson photo credit: Sara Larsson" - Isabelle Kliger
