"It is worth making the journey here for the stunning views of the surrounding mountains from the sun-drenched plateau some 1 000m above Annaberg – and they are even better from the terrace. At this 16C farm building, dine in cosy, rustic-style nooks or on the light-filled veranda. The kitchen is open all day, serving traditional regional and seasonal cuisine that draws on the odd international influence, such as Kalbsrahmbeuscherl mit Semmelknöde (veal offal ragout with bread dumplings) and lobster gyoza with an Asian-style bisque. Alternatively, opt for the set menu. Everything is made with good-quality, fresh ingredients, including preserves. Tip: House-made goods can be purchased to enjoy at home.
