"The brainchild of local architect Bruce Lanier (who also designed the space), MAKEbhm is the hub of Magic City maker culture. A gathering place for people who believe that good design, original ideas, and collaboration are the foundation of a creative community. Be it woodworking, metalworking, printmaking or ceramics—they provide the space, tools, power, WiFi, and coffee; you provide the inspiration and perspiration. MAKEbhm also offers classes taught by local artists, artisans, and craftspeople. You can even learn the ins and outs of bike repair from local bike mechanics who volunteer at the in-house Bici Bicycle Cooperative. Also on site, a retail space that’s home to Winslet & Rhys and Big Spoon Creamery. A second makerspace—dubbed M2—is currently in the planning stages." - Lewis Communications
