Best Pizza in New Orleans (2025)
Pizza Delicious
Pizza restaurant · Bywater
Bywater’s pizza institution still sets the citywide standard for New York–style pies. Started as a pop-up, it’s now a perennial award-winner and a locals’ go-to for slices and whole pies. Recognized by 50 Top Pizza and featured often by Eater New Orleans.
St. Pizza
Pizza restaurant · Lower Garden District
A Lower Garden District slice window turned tavern with East Coast spirit and Louisiana swagger. Included in The New York Times list of best U.S. pizzerias and a fixture on Eater New Orleans maps. Expect char-kissed rounds, smart toppings, and strong cocktails.
Zee's Pizzeria
Pizza restaurant · Milan
From pop-up to permanent Uptown favorite, Zee’s turns out thin, New England–meets–NY pies with crisp edges and cupped pepperoni. Praised by local critic Ian McNulty at The Times-Picayune and highlighted by Eater New Orleans.
Margot’s
Pizza restaurant · Seventh Ward
Wood‑fired sourdough pizzas, natural wine, and a lively room just off Frenchmen Street. Condé Nast Traveler spotlights its tight, seasonal menu; Eater New Orleans regularly recommends it. Grab a pie, then wander to nearby music clubs.
Paladar 511
Italian restaurant · Marigny
Paladar 511 - Review - Bywater - New Orleans - The Infatuation
Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite at the small corner bar, or taking over the long 10-top at its center, Paladar 511 is the place to be for a big, fun meal. The menu is all about pizza, pastas, and local produce. Start with the roasted squash and the arancini, which is stuffed with short rib and about as big as a softball. Then, head for the messy-but-worth-it Farm Egg pizza and squid ink spaghetti with calabrian chili butter that we’d happily buy by the jar. If you’ve done it right, by the end of your meal, you’re feeling a little louder and a lot full, so it’s time to dance it off by heading to the nearby Frenchman Street bars. photo credit: Cory Fontenot photo credit: Cory Fontenot photo credit: Cory Fontenot photo credit: Cory Fontenot photo credit: Cory Fontenot Pause Unmute - Chelsea Brasted
Nighthawk Napoletana
Pizza restaurant · Algiers Point
Three Exciting Restaurant Openings Hit New Orleans Just in Time for New Year’s | Eater New Orleans
I visited a revived Westbank pizzeria space in Algiers Point where Adrian Chelette, backed by the Barracuda team (Brett Jones and Bryson Aust), has installed a large wood-burning oven and a simple, modern layout with a dining counter, bar, small covered patio, and a narrow dining room with four-top tables dressed in classic red-and-white checkered cloths. Still in soft opening, Nighthawk Napoletana keeps the menu concise and focused on sourdough Neapolitan-style pies (eight pizzas), a few salads, and small plates like meatballs and arancini, reflecting Chelette’s strong pizza background from Margot’s and Ancora Pizza; the spot is open Thu–Mon 4–10. - Clair Lorell
Venezia New Orleans
Italian restaurant · Mid-City
Since 1957, this Mid‑City stalwart has served old‑school Italian and classic pies steps from Angelo Brocato. Eater New Orleans calls the pizza terrific—think Jersey‑style rounds, checkered tablecloths, and true neighborhood tradition.
Nola Pizza Co.
Pizza restaurant · Irish Channel
A brewery‑born project serving New York–style rounds and grandma squares, with dough engineered using NYC‑like water chemistry. Frequently cited by Eater New Orleans and confirmed active via the company’s site and ordering portals.
Nola Mia Gelato Cafe
Pizza restaurant · Marigny
Part gelateria, part slice shop, and a Marigny/Bywater bridge for NY‑style, Sicilian, and grandma pies. Included on Eater New Orleans’s pizza guide and verified open via the cafe’s site; great for a quick slice before an art walk.
Gio's Pizza & Spaghetti House
Italian restaurant · Metairie
A family‑run classic since 1984 serving bar‑style pies and red‑gravy comforts just outside the city line. Recently spotlighted by national pizza reviewers and covered by local media; limited hours, big neighborhood following.
