Are Portugal’s Beaches Disappearing?
Known as a nourished stretch of sand in Olhão, this beach has recently had 80,000 cubic metres of sand added in an effort to combat coastal erosion, a process referred to as beach nourishment. Despite this significant intervention, there are still concerns about the durability of the works for the upcoming summer bathing season, and officials are considering further emergency measures to ensure it is ready and usable when beach season begins. - Liv Kelly
