‘Thunderbolts’: the filming locations behind the new MCU blockbuster

Currently the second-tallest skyscraper in the world, this 118-storey tower in Kuala Lumpur looms over every other building in the city and served as the site for one of the MCU’s most jaw-dropping practical stunts. Filming there involved Florence Pugh performing a parachute jump off the building without a stunt double, with a specially built platform certified by three engineering firms and strict safety pauses whenever lightning struck within five miles. High winds and stormy weather added to the tension, and the tower itself was still under construction at the time, making the shoot feel, as the director jokes, like an opening ceremony for the building. - Shaurya Thapa
