"Set in a limestone hill believed to be around 400 million years old about 10 km north of Kuala Lumpur in Selangor province, this climbing and pilgrimage site offers eight crags with over 170 routes — Damai Wall suits beginners, while Nyamuk Wall, Nanyang Wall and Comic Wall are noted for longer, more technical climbs and challenging overhangs. Climbing is free, though newcomers can use operators such as Vertical Adventure or rent equipment at an on-site counter. The cave complex also contains ancient temples and Hindu shrines; the main Temple Cave sits at the top of the hill and is reached via 272 steps. Easily reached by car or taxi beside the MRR2 highway or by KTM Komuter train from KL Sentral, it’s ideal for adventurers who want proximity to a major city." - Samantha David
