There’s the privileged location in the Cretan village of Plaka on the island’s northeastern coast — overlooking Elounda Bay, the hotel offers unparalleled views of picturesque Spinalonga Island. There’s the striking and eco-friendly architectural design, with six tiers of modern stone structures built into the steep hillside and connected by funicular trains. Then there are the rooms themselves, all with private pools and sea views, the interiors elegant and contemporary with custom-made beds, marble bathrooms, and sophisticated lighting systems.
