"You might do a double-take just to remind yourself that this is Colmar and not Strasbourg or Zürich, so stylish and urbane is the Hôtel Quatorze. It’s set in the heart of the old town, in a 19th-century pharmacy building near the cathedral, but what’s inside is pure 21st-century design hotel, complete with modernist furniture, minimalist monochrome décor, and paintings by the contemporary Spanish artist Alfonso Vallès.
