"Okay, you’ve just walked in. First impressions? Among the earliest premium coffee shops in Paris, Coutume caught the wave of industrial-chic café design. It has an almost scientific approach to coffee roasting and brewing. Come here and you'll see that coffee is serious business. Who else was there? Given its location near Le Bon Marché, Coutume attracts international visitors strolling the neighborhood in search of anything better than push-button espresso. The raison d’être : the coffee. How was it? The menu has serious brews: everything from espressos, crèmes, and cappuccinos to various "méthode douce café" (slow coffee), like V60, Chemex, and Aeropress. Was there food, too, and if so, worth getting? Brunchy pancakes, eggs, salads, and sweets accompany the coffees (but certainly don't command the spotlight). How about the staff: what did you think? The staff are experts, and they know it, which can read standoffish. But chalk it up to their intent focus on delivering a great product. Who should go here?
