"Design comes first in this 30,000-square-foot, more-than-480-seat club that greets you after a self-scan entrance with a hotel-lobby vibe—think a wooden bookshelf lined with eclectic decor and a fruit-infused water station set on vibrant flooring. Local collaborations with The Newark Museum of Art and Newark-based Gallery Aferro deliver standout murals by artists like Gilbert Hsiao and Dahlia Elsayed, giving the space a strong sense of place alongside New York subway–style wall tiles and signage. Beyond the full-service coffee bar, premium bar, wellness room, and spa-like shower suites, chefs and servers stationed behind the buffet make the salad bar and cast-iron-skillet entrées taste fresher than standard lounge fare. Business travelers will love the sleek recessed workstation booths and plush couches, and everyone should take a moment to admire the Manhattan skyline through the vast windows. My personal favorite of the Newark lounges, I once posted on Instagram: “If United sold United Club workspace memberships, I’d be at EWR every day.”" - Rachel Chang
