While there is a strictly enforced dress code and, yes, you’ll find plenty of power players flexing, the ambiance of the restaurant is more of an austere, easy – as well as Big Easy – elegance. Fresh flowers, exposed brick, and cuts like filet au poivre, crackling with peppercorns and draped in cognac sauce, are warmly lit while the screened-in, ironwork-framed balcony are ideal for golden hours over a 20-ounce bone-in lean ribeye with potatoes Brabant, mashed, or Lyonnaise.
