"I learned that Christopher Bohn is opening the Operator’s Club as a semi-private but publicly accessible, (almost) always-on venue in the old Coca-Cola building, partnering with Veryable so platform users get preferential reservations and access to private meeting rooms; it will operate 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily (midnight on weekends) and offers coffee in the morning, lunch from 11 a.m., and daily dinner service. In phase one (opening in June) it will function as a cocktail and sports bar with a lounge, dining tables and a communal table, aiming for an industrial speakeasy vibe that’s a little swanky. Morning service will feature Oak Cliff Roasters coffee and pastries from Leila Bakery and Cafe (including cinnamon buns called Sinful Buns that will also appear on the dessert menu), while Henry’s Creamery is developing a custom honey lavender ice cream for the club. Consulting chef John Franke is developing a “Guy-Fieri-esque” menu that includes an elevated barrel nachos (a big ass stack of nachos with barbecue made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients), a wagyu mac-and-cheese burger with the macaroni formed into a Panko-breaded puck to avoid a gooey mess, a prime rib sandwich called The Bear (meant to evoke the sandwich from the Hulu series), and an Operators’ Club club sandwich held together with an 18-inch skewer, plus lighter lunch options. I was also told to expect multiple screens for sports, a lively music playlist (think Willie Nelson, Kings of Leon, Tame Impala), app-ordering options to minimize facetime, events ranging from tastings and pairings to high/low spectacles with Mavericks cheerleaders and smoke machines, and ambitions to expand to additional locations nationwide." - Courtney E.
