East Falls Is Getting a Yogi-Approved Eatery | Eater Philly

"Chef Craig Wilson of the now-closed Gigi Italian Bistro and Maya.J is opening Milo Restaurant in East Falls at 3426 Conrad Street in mid-April; he and yoga teacher/trained chef Ammie Ferguson are aiming for a compassionate, conscious market and restaurant focused on “humanitarian and healthy” fare with a vegetarian menu and many vegan options. Milo will open early seven days a week for breakfast, coffee, smoothies, and juices, then move into lunch with sandwiches, tacos, noodle dishes, and salads available to eat in or packaged to go; weekend brunch and a short, slightly more upscale vegan/vegetarian dinner menu on Thursday–Saturday are planned. The roughly 1,000-square-foot space will seat 30-plus with a counter and display case; the menu isn’t strictly vegan (it includes eggs and cheese) but offers several vegan dishes and modifiable vegetarian options, including in-house dairy-free nut-based cheese, and will shift traditional proteins to tempeh, seitan, and various tofus informed by Wilson’s international cooking experience." - Rachel Vigoda
