"A new casual Mexican cantina opened June 29 in the former Ulysses Village space (which closed in 2018 after 16 years), presenting a colorful, laid-back dining room designed by Amy Knoll Fraser. The kitchen is a collaboration of notable local talent — chef Jenni Sklar (whose résumé includes Lucques, Son of a Gun and the Whoa Nellie Deli), owner/operator John Moshay (of Fritzi Coop), partner Neal Fraser, and general manager Grace Whaley (formerly of Redbird and Pizzeria Mozza) — and the food leans on classic American‑Mexican cantina fare: nachos, fried tacos, quesadillas and a variety of antojitos, plus salads, protein bowls over herbed rice and a kids menu. The cocktail program, consulted on by Tobin Shea of Redbird, features agave‑based old fashioneds, frozen strawberry margaritas, sangria and other market‑friendly drinks. For now it’s open daily 11:30 a.m.–8 p.m. (extended to 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays), takes reservations via Resy, and is located at 6333 West Third Street." - Farley Elliott
