"Lekka Burger, a vegan burger chain backed by the owner of Michelin-starred vegetarian restaurant Dirt Candy, has closed its remaining locations in New York City. The burger shop closed its original spot on Warren Street in Tribeca this spring, and the website Tribeca Citizen reports that a second location in the Urbanspace food hall in Midtown East is done, too. “We will no longer be operating our restaurant or wholesale business,” Jazz Mace, the restaurant’s manager, says. “Unfortunately, we were not able to recover from the impact of COVID despite our best efforts.” Amanda Cohen, the chef and owner of Dirt Candy, opened Lekka Burger in 2019.
