"Inside a monumental 7,000-square-foot, multi-story dining and entertainment venue in the heart of Ocean Beach, I encountered a Jules Verne– and steampunk-inspired space designed by Davis Ink that officially opens on July 4. The ground floor features a bar and nightly entertainment on a stage hung with a floating zeppelin structure, while moving cogs line a staircase up to a second-floor main dining area, second bar, and elevated patio; a rooftop lounge perched above the sidewalk offers stunning views of the ocean and Ocean Beach pier. The owners—Steve Yeng and his family, who previously took over Gallagher’s Irish Pub and completed a $4.5 million remodel that expanded capacity to over 500—are showcasing high-end spirits and a beach-style cocktail menu from Sam Padilla, including drinks named California Love (Hornitos tequila, Ancho Reyes Verde, passionfruit puree, and lime) and Comfortably Numb (Rittenhouse rye, Aperol, lemon, and IPA foam). Their hit Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey will be featured prominently in cocktails and on the menu, which includes Skrewball Whiskey–marinated wings finished in a caramelized whiskey sauce, a pho dip sandwich made with wagyu brisket cooked in pho broth, sizzling dry-rubbed salmon served with chicken rice, and shaken beef of wok-tossed filet mignon; OB Noodle House classics like the house garlic wings and house special Saigon fried rice will also be available." - Candice Woo
