"I found the eatery opened over the weekend on Downtown Chula Vista’s Third Avenue next to the historic Vogue Theater; it was formerly a Thai restaurant and has been remodeled to resemble an old-world beer hall and sausage house, with classic arcade games and a shuffleboard table for entertainment. Proprietors Alan Cassel and Dr. Gonzalo "Q" Quintero (who run the Grind House in Barrio Logan, and Cassel also co-owns the Chula Vista Grind House) are offering dinner service on weekends only until a grand launch on Wednesday, August 21, after which the spot will operate Wednesday through Monday with the kitchen open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The German-style, sausage-centric menu includes traditional kielbasa, bratwurst, and bison sausage, plus pretzels served with mustard and cheese, and a refrigerated case will be stocked with to-go foods ranging from sausages to salads." - Candice Woo
