"Run by Henry Venegas and his father in Gulfport, Mississippi, this taqueria is best known for a carnitas po' boy that marries the family's Mexican heritage with Louisiana Gulf traditions. The sandwich—essentially a Mexican-style torta served on a po' boy roll—features carnitas cooked in a large copper pot with lard, Mexican beer, soda, spices, and whole oranges, using pieces of Boston pork butt, then piled with lettuce, tomato, and avocado. Venegas describes it as versatile and hard to mess up, reflecting the shop's casual crossover approach to tacos and po' boys.
