Donut shop · Hagerstown
Do you enjoy a delicious morning treat? How about a hot glazed donut? Krumpe's Do-Nuts is one of the most popular secrets of Western Maryland. Since 1934, Krumpe's has been baking fresh donuts nightly. Rudolf Max Krumpe began making these delicious treats in the 1930's. Rudolf founded Mother Krumpe's Do-Nuts, opening 5 locations including one in Hagerstown, MD. During WWII rationing forced the shops to close except the Do-Nut House in Funkstown, MD where they made fresh donuts, serving breakfast and lunch until the 1980's. While growing up, Rudolf's son, Max Krumpe worked alongside his father. Upon his return from the Merchant Marine in the late 1940's, Max and his wife Juanita took over the donut bakery from his father and began Krumpe's Do-Nut Shop. Krumpe's began by making the donuts at night and delivered them in the morning to local stores. With the help of the family they were able to build a great reputation and expanded their delivery routes throughout Washington Count
