"After construction delays pushed its opening into early December, I learned that Buena Vida Tapas will be a Spanish tapas restaurant and wine bar from Adam Berlin and Juan Calle of Big Sky Buckhead, located in the North and Line complex across from Historic Fourth Ward Park on the Beltline. Executive chef Landon Thompson — who previously worked for the Castellucci Hospitality Group at Cooks & Soldiers and Iberian Pig — finalized a menu that ranges from Basque-style tapas and larger shareable portions cooked on a wood-burning grill to standout dishes like twice-cooked pork belly over sweet potato puree with sunchokes, a trio of confit mushroom croquetas fried in panko breadcrumbs, and Canary Island “wrinkly potatoes” served with mojo picon (garlic and chiles) and mojo verde (cilantro, parsley, and sherry vinegar). The dinner menu also includes torticas de camarones (Andalusian baby shrimp pancakes), a whole crispy fish, and a 32-ounce chuleton ribeye — both the fish and steak serve up to four people and are only available after 5 p.m. Berlin plans a wine program heavy on Spanish, biodynamic, and natural wines with a few dusty French and Italian classics, and cocktails lean Spanish (for example, a citrus-laden gin and tonic served in a balloon glass). Hours will be Monday–Thursday 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Friday 4 p.m. to 1 a.m.; Saturday 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.; Sunday 11 a.m. to 12 a.m." - Beth McKibben
