"Como’s, a restaurant in Ferndale, is reopening with different owners, a refreshed look, and an updated menu featuring square Detroit-style pizza and soft serve ice cream. The restaurant, which closed in 2017 due to health inspection failures, has been taken over by Peas & Carrots Hospitality. The new team has renovated the restaurant significantly, maintaining only the signage and terracotta arabica tile floor from the original establishment. Como’s is located on a buzzing corner of Woodward Avenue and is regarded as having one of the best patios in Oakland County. The redesigned interior features a classic, throwback style with modern touches and a bar made from Douglas fir. The menu includes chef Zack Sklar’s take on Detroit-style pizza, brick chicken, baked spaghetti, Indian-spiced spinach dip, and several dessert options such as soft serve and Italian budino custard. Como’s is set to open for semi-public, by-reservation seatings on May 3 and May 4, with a full opening on May 6, 2023." - Brenna Houck
