New Burger Restaurant HighLife Opens in NYC’s East Village | Eater NY

"The shuttered Greenpoint restaurant Esme (which opened in 2014 and closed in 2024) at 999 Manhattan Avenue near Huron Street is being converted into a new sports bar, tentatively opening Wednesday, March 12. Co-owners Noah Goldman and Greenpoint Fish and Lobster’s fish buyer Vinny Milburn are leading the project; Goldman recounts that he frequented Esme often but thought the neighborhood needed a sports bar. Expect beer offered tapped, by the glass, pitcher, or bucket, plus cocktails. Chef Matt Dickhaut, who had been cooking at Greenpoint Fish’s pop-up at Threes Brewing, will oversee a food menu including burgers, chicken wings, and sandwiches." - Nadia Chaudhury
