"Opening March 4, the new Joey at Manhattan Village is the long-awaited South Bay outpost of a sleek, upscale-casual Canadian chain that landed big in Los Angeles in 2019; I’ve heard the company has been hiring lots of staff and locals have been anxiously awaiting its arrival. It will begin as a patio-only restaurant due to COVID-19 protocols, with distanced tables, staff wearing PPE, and a roomy patio of over 1,400 square feet that makes social distancing feel comfortable, and will ultimately add roughly 7,800 square feet of indoor dining wrapped in dark wood, glass, and steel in a Shawmut-built facility that includes a bespoke art piece from local abstract graffiti artist Amber Goldhammer. The menu is broad — housemade hummus, pan-fried gyoza, salads, sandwiches, burgers, sushi, and butter chicken — with lots of cocktails, craft beer, and wine; hours are 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily (midnight Sundays) with happy hour from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m." - Farley Elliott
