"Opened in early February after an announcement in late January, this Green Street spot closed after a truncated four-month run. Owner Loretta Peng positioned it as a casual, almost all-day space—open daily from lunch through dinner with weekend brunch and a compact bar inside—as a more relaxed follow-up to the longtime Spanish restaurant that had occupied the address. Peng posted a notice on her website saying, “I regret to inform you that Dérive has closed,” adding that they were honored to have been part of the Pasadena food scene for the last six years and were grateful for the community’s support of both Dérive and Ración; she encouraged patrons to continue supporting local small businesses. The restaurant’s final night of service has already passed, and Eater reached out to Peng about what may be next for her or the six-year-old restaurant space but has not heard back." - Farley Elliott
