"Across the sprawling city of Phoenix, on its far west side, sits the Wigwam resort — hidden in plain sight the center of Litchfield Park for more than 100 years. Its signature restaurant, Litchfield’s, has a compelling menu for diners. Of particular note are the wood-fired steaks that hiss above locally collected pecan wood; order the flank that is sourced from Southern Arizona’s Vera Earl Ranch. The menu includes local touches wherever possible, whether ingredients like the honey used for the watermelon steak, complete with crisp cucumber and feta, or nods like the Copper Cosmo cocktail that allude to Arizona’s mining history. On the side, grab some of the bourbon creamed corn served with tobacco onions. The mood here is refreshingly casual: the Western decor gives a salute to the Wigwam’s historic past without being over the top, while an outdoor adobe fireplace cozies up the patio." - Asonta Benetti
