"When I visited a local Safeway on Rainier Ave S, near Mount Baker, the Cosmic Crisp stock was already running low by 8:30 a.m.; the apples were priced at $3.49 per pound, 50 cents higher than Honeycrisps and $1.50 more than many other varieties. The skin has a nice texture and there’s plenty of sugar with each bite, though it was hard to distinguish from a regular Honeycrisp; it’s supposed to be slow to brown, and after leaving a half-eaten one on the table for over an hour I didn’t notice a significant change in color. I have yet to put it through the rigors of baking, another selling point." - Gabe Guarente
