"On Mission Boulevard a new beachside brunch hangout has landed: Molly’s, the daytime counterpart to Moe’s, which shares a street-level courtyard with it but Molly’s also has a sunny rooftop patio decked out in furnishings shipped in from Tulum, Mexico’s trendy beach town. Currently open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Molly’s serves a breakfast and lunch menu that ranges from egg dishes and assorted toasts to açaí bowls, Belgian waffles, salads, and sandwiches; the restaurant and bar roasts its own beans for coffee and pours brunchtime cocktails like mimosas and Bloody Marys. Molly’s also gives Mission Beach its own artisan bakery: in-house pastry chef Eli Peralta is working with pastry consultant Cheryl Storms (previously a kitchen manager at Bird Rock’s Wayfarer Bread & Pastry, a former San Francisco bakery owner, and grand-prize winner of Food Network’s “Holiday Baking Championship”) to stock a pastry counter with almond croissants, berry cream buns, tomato‑chevre tarts, mini banana chocolate pies, and more. Management says Molly’s will extend its hours just before Memorial Day, expand its cocktail list, and add a dinner menu with salads, pizza, and flatbreads." - Candice Woo
