"Debuting in Eden Prairie as a pan-Asian shopping mall, Asia Mall was in a soft-opening phase when I visited and already drew crowds searching for steaming hot pot, fresh seafood, tropical produce and sweet bubble tea; a planned grand opening was pushed back while mall representatives extended the soft opening. I felt an undeniable sense of celebration as people shopped and dined: market shelves of Korean pears, peony grapes and Hami melons were well picked-over, shoppers loaded carts with frozen dumplings, packs of dried Thai plums and shrimp snacks, and the seafood market offered whole fish and live blue crabs. Many cornerstone restaurants and vendors were open while others were still being built out, and the project—spearheaded by broker Marshall Nguyen—aims to be a one-stop-shop for Asian groceries and dining in the Twin Cities, taking cues from pan-Asian malls popular on the West Coast." - Justine Jones
