"Straw, a Lower Haight restaurant familiar to anyone stuck on the Octavia Boulevard path to the freeway, opened in early 2011 with a carnival-themed menu. It included items like a Bearded Lady (pulled pork and blackberry coulis), a working cotton candy machine, and a Tilt-a-Whirl booth. At its height, it was featured on Food Network shows.
