"I noticed a new taco shop in Rockville Town Center that’s celebrating a lot of firsts and has partnered with the Montgomery County Public Schools’ foundation Dine With Dignity to raise money for school meals. The kid’s meal at the new location costs $3, includes either a cheese or chicken quesadilla and chicken with rice, and Little Miner Taco will donate all proceeds from each kid’s meal to the fund; each kid’s meal also comes with a free aguafresca until Saturday, August 17, as part of a push to help raise $170,000 for the MCPS Educational Foundation. The shop is planning a grand opening fiesta on August 28 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with free birria tacos, aguafrescas, and DJ performances, and the first 50 customers will receive a complimentary birria spice kit and $5 gift cards. Little Miner Taco began as a D.C.-area food truck and now operates small counter-service spots in Brentwood and North Bethesda; it opened its largest restaurant yet in July, which features a salsa bar, a brand-new logo, and an upcoming full-service bar." - Emily Venezky
