"I found that, built from the ground up in Inglewood, the 18,000-capacity arena is being positioned as the most high-tech and expensive basketball arena in the world: a $2 billion sports and music venue with frictionless payments, up-close seating, a massive circular screen, and first-rate acoustics. Since most heavy work was completed by mid-June, the arena’s concession experience was completely reimagined — with two main prep kitchens, numerous commissaries, and 21 cooking stations distributed around the building so dishes are prepared close to fans rather than shipped from a few central commissaries. The club emphasized grab-and-go ordering so fans can buy quickly and return to seats without missing action (and Ballmer even touted an expanded number of toilets to limit bathroom waits). Concession pricing hasn’t been announced but will likely be market rate, with discounts such as a $5 hot dog for Chuckmark Certified members. The VIP clubhouse (courtside access required) feels like an expansive sports bar with freshly prepared small bites, two buffet-style kitchens with full pizza ovens, and a bar that can support up to 12 bartenders.
