"Celebrated Austin bar Nickel City has opened a Houston outpost in the East End, debuting on March 8 and planning a grand opening celebration on March 14. The Houston menu will include tavern wings, pizza logs, and the bar’s iconic Jim Beam highballs—a cross of Jim Beam, bubbly water, and a hit of lemon. The concept is the brainchild of Tober alongside bar veterans Primozich Craig and brothers Brandon and Zane Hunt (who own Austin pizza joint Via 313); they opened Nickel City’s first location in Austin in 2017 and a Fort Worth outpost in 2020.
