"Opened after more than a year in the making, the Fort Worth outpost of Fixe Southern House has finally opened its doors at 5282 Marathon Avenue inside The Shops at Clearfork, occupying 6,900 square feet and seating 220 in what a representative calls a “brighter, more polished version” of the Austin original. Designed by Nelson Partners’ Amy Jackson, the room aims for a homey, comfortable vibe with modern touches and features a giant pecan slab chef’s table that offers a view of the action in the kitchen. The menu leans into comforting, updated Southern fare: beloved biscuits that chef-owner James Robert learned from his grandmother and that are served with preserves made at the restaurant and whipped butter; an entire section dedicated to grits; fried chicken; a pot pie stuffed with Maine lobster and Louisiana crawfish; and a Duroc pork shoulder served with potlikker pinto beans, mustard greens, and an emulsion of jalapeño and kale. Fixe will open for its first service on Wednesday, January 24, and will serve dinner from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week." - Amy McCarthy
