"Set to open in October in the One Arts Plaza space formerly occupied by Proof + Pantry, the Playwright Irish Pub is an Irish-themed beer-hall from Ireland native Alan Kearney that aims to cater to both the theatre crowd and sports fans with live game broadcasts and live music on the bar’s two patios; it plans to offer about 50 different, affordably priced beers and hundreds of whiskeys and scotches like at Kearney’s Crafty Irishman, will serve a menu similar to his other pub featuring traditional Irish favorites such as bangers and mash, Shepherd’s pie, and Scotch eggs, and will offer traditional Irish breakfasts during weekend brunch—though it will have to contend with the difficult location’s slow times between nearby shows that previously challenged restaurants in the spot." - Alaena Hostetter
