"Opened by Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises and led by chef-partner CJ Jacobson, this suburban outpost translates a California-cool take on Mediterranean cuisine into a light, breezy dining room with a skylight and an upscale buildout uncommon in the suburbs. The concept — which originated in River North in 2016 and has expanded into sibling locations — aims to capture the lunch crowd with an emphasis on salads, including a chopped salad with arugula, romaine, cauliflower, caper, date, parmesan, olive and red pepper, and a Caesar dressed with tahini. Staple dips such as hummus with lamb ragu share the menu with cross-cultural plates that reflect Jacobson’s eight years of research and travel, like a spicy brisket kebab finished with a tamarind barbecue sauce blended with hoisin. While the parent company is known for large, sprawling menus, Jacobson seeks a focused point of view that encourages guests to try new dishes.
