Hoboken’s three-story City Bistro has you covered with a patio for good-weather socializing and dog-friendly relaxation if you arrive early enough to snag the first-come, first-serve outdoor seating. Vegetarians take note that the veggie patty here is above par, while everyone will want to sample the thin-crust pizza. You can get a New York slice most anywhere else, so lean into the idiosyncrasy. If you’re further looking for the standouts you won’t find elsewhere, grab a Johnny sandwich (chicken cutlet with provolone, banana peppers, and balsamic dressing). Steadfast folks will otherwise find a mix of pizza and pasta with some American classics like steak and burgers.
