"At the Rosemont location of Shaq’s fried chicken chain, customers were routinely lining up—some as early as 10 p.m. the night before the Tuesday, July 11 opening—to try sandwiches and popcorn chicken. The shop, part of a chain with locations in 13 states, joins a store near Dayton, Ohio as one of the only Midwest outlets; this site was built by franchisee Vishal Patel in partnership with Level Construction. I noted the menu collaborations and marketing touches: a maple-glazed doughnut bun created with Stan’s Donuts produced the limited-time Spicy Chicken Stanwich (Nashville hot), there's a sandwich called the “Chicago” topped with Buffalo hot sauce, blue cheese, and slaw (named after a person, Anthony Hall, rather than the city), and even a sandwich named “Big Aristotle.” The concept has been the subject of a reality show and even appears on a Carnival cruise ship; Shaq himself was too busy to attend the Rosemont opening and his PR team said he was not available for an interview." - Ashok Selvam
