"Presidential candidate Joe Biden stopped by Buttercup Diner near Jack London Square yesterday morning during a Bay Area campaign swing, sliding into a booth with a few Oakland locals, taking selfies, and shaking hands; Oakland mayor Libby Schaaf and pilot Chelsey “Sully” Sullenberger were also present. Buttercup is a family-owned mini chain with five Bay Area locations known for their waffles, pancakes, prime rib plates, and pie, and reports say Biden ordered a piece of coconut cream pie for $6.50.
