"In downtown's Post Alley, across from Lecosho, the new Locust Cider and Brewing Co. taproom (1222 Post Alley) offers 16 taps pouring the company's core and seasonal ciders and beers, plus cider slushies, wine in cans, and sausages from Uli's Famous Sausage; the all-ages spot also features retro video games and board games. The cidery brews varieties such as Dark Cherry, Honey Pear, Vanilla Bean, Mojito, and Strawberry Hibiscus, while its beer lineup includes Mexican lager, chocolate porter, passionfruit milkshake IPA, and a smoked blueberry rauchbier. Founded in Woodinville in 2015 by brothers Jason and Patrick Spears, Locust has rapidly expanded with locations in West Seattle, Ballard, Tacoma, Boulder (in the works), and Fort Worth, and earlier this year merged with Woodinville's Dirty Bucket Brewing to add beer to its offerings; a portion of proceeds are donated to the Hydrocephalus Association, a cause important to Jason and his wife Rebecca because their daughter lives with the condition." - Megan Hill
